Launched in 2012 as a community for Christians, teachers, holistic hippies, chronic-illness spoonies, mental health sufferers, and rare disease patients.
If any of the above sounds like you – you’re in the right spot for a little pick me up, especially because I’m someone who is all of the above, and the stories you’ll read here come straight from my heart to yours.
Why should you read this blog?
If you need support, need to vent, or need some general good ole’ warming to the heart, you’ll feel right at home here.
What will you get out of my articles?
Encouragement through tough curve-balls. Emotional writing. Hopefully no tears.
My stories are also published on:
When I was little, I had big dreams of becoming an astronaut or a singer/songwriter. Life happened, and now I’m a special education teacher. I’m always wearing a sweater. I believe in the power of holistic wellness, Christian yoga, superfoods, and being kind. I love doing life with family and close friends. I think laughter is the best medicine.
GOFUNDME. Some of us get wake-up calls in life. I switched to clean living in 2019 because I was diagnosed with a rare disease called NMO that affects my central nervous system. They found five brain lesions on my MRI’s and I’ve been painfully blind in both of my eyes through 2019, but never at the same time (thank you, Jesus). And this was my wake-up call. My choice of lifestyle is a result of being scared to death that I would become permanently blind or disabled, and my story goes from there. This is my bestie below who stayed with me during my week stay at the hospital.
One day, I met a guy named Lewis. He had tattoos and played music so I said, “I do” on November 4th, 2017. Only kidding, the real reason is his heart for God. Truly.
We bought our first home in 2019 and happily live with our two cats Meeko and Wally. My husband has to mow a half acre almost every weekend and he absolutely loves it (he he).
I’m also an identical twin. We’re sister best friends and the only family to each other that’s never let stupid drama get in the way of our relationship.
So there is some of my life. I’m a Christian that desires broken people to know how loved they are by Jesus Christ. At least, that’s what gets me through life.
And this is my blog.
